Amy Kenny is a Whitehorse-based writer.
She covers courts, medicine justice and breaking news for The Whitehorse Daily Star.
She has worked previously at The Hamilton Spectator, doing restaurant reviews, and covering business and the arts. Her journalism has also been published by National Geographic Book Publishing, The Walrus, Canadian Geographic and Explore.
She graduated from Ryerson University’s journalism program in 2004. In 2014 she completed the Humber School for Writers program in creative writing by correspondence, where she was mentored by David Adams Richards. In 2016, she was named journalist of the year at the Ontario Newspaper Awards. She is currently working towards an MFA in creative writing through the University of British Columbia.
