Last night I hit a point where I felt like – BAM. I can everlovin’ DO. THIS. BIZ. Not that I’m a pro yet, but there’s just so much you can make with no more than a jeweller’s [...] My visual arts profiles of Hamilton artists are in the paper today – painter Christina Sealey, sculptor Laura Marotta and photographer Masoud Eskandari. Next week? Rock music! Over the course of this summer, Spec writer Rhiannon Russell and I put together an arts series aimed at introducing readers to some of amazing artists in Hamilton. It took lot of our time these last two months (not to mention photographers’ time – every one of the more than 100 artists featured had a [...] All I have to talk about today is paper. Next up – when I was home over the weekend my Grandma gave me a bunch of magazines from the 60s. All about the [...] I spent Saturday at the Niagara Falls Comic Con with Dane. I was officially covering it for the Spec (you can read about that here) and unofficially nerding out hard. It was quite awesome. Tonnes of crazy costumes, everyone was super-friendly and more than willing to talk shop, art art art galore and just general [...] Of course I forgot to take a picture of the earrings I worked on earlier this week and by now they’re in the mail. Instead, here’s an article I had in the Spec yesterday about hula hooping. I’ll attest to everything the instructors and student say about how fun hooping is. I took a workshop [...] Better late than never, no? This and this are probably two of my favourite of my own articles. And that is because I am a nerd of mid-to-highest order.
